When selecting a style
consider the style
of your home. Is it ornate, simple, traditional or modern? The
gate you select should reflect the same. Some styles of architecture
exhibit more than one of these and consequently are more versatile will offer more choices than others. In these
instances you may select the same options with your gate. For example a
French Revival home would be appropriate with either a very ornate gate or
a traditional style gate. Because it has elements of both
traditional/historic style as well as very ornate elements. So
consequently the gate can reflect either of these styles. It is up to the
home owner to decide which he/she would like to express.
An example of a bad style match would be a
very ornate cast iron gate with a plain earthy Pueblo/Santa Fe style home. The clean and
simple lines of the home will contrast with the curves and ornate decorum
of the gate. A beautiful Victorian Queen Anne or Antebellum Plantation
would be much better suited with such an ornate gate. The Santa Fe home
would be best enhanced with a simple or modern style wood. Remember the goal of
having a beautiful entrance is for the gates to enhance, not overpower
your homes style. A better impression is made by simple beauty rather than
gaudy extravagance.

solid IPE Wood, White Oak or Western Red Cedar.
They are completely solid and are not veneered. It is also important to
mention that all of our gates are constructed from premium heartwood that is
located in the center of the tree. This is the strongest and most durable
part of the tree. There are no knots in our wood gates. Many other
gate companies use second run and inferior wood that does not exhibit the
durable qualities of the more expensive heart wood that we use. This fact
along with the multitude of uniquely designed gates add a natural elegance and
durability not found by any of our competitors.
All of our gates are
designed and constructed to bestrong and durable. Our gates
are constructed using traditional premium construction methods including
Mortise and Tenon Joinery and Tongue and Groove floating panels. Our
wood gates are great for areas in corrosive climates,
and for those who would like to avoid the maintenance and cost common to
iron gates. Our White Oak and Red Cedar Gates are shipped finely sanded and
ready to accept your stain or paint of choice. While our IPE wood
gates ship already treated with a clear UV inhibitor. The extreme
density of IPE wood that gives its incredible durability, however does not allow
the wood to accept paint or stain well. For this reason the IPE wood is
available only in it's beautiful natural "rosey walnut" finish.
